Alex M meets with the Toronto Maple Leafs

Alex has excelled despite many challenges in his 15 years.

He was born 2 months premature and at only 4 months old was diagnosed with juvenile leukemia. At 9 months old he underwent a bone marrow transplant. At 8 years of age he faced another setback when he was diagnosed with a kidney disorder. Despite these challenges, and with the undeniable support of his parents and sister, Alex pursues many typical interests of a teenage boy – playing video games and hockey and of course everything Toronto Maple Leafs.

As a true fan, Alex’s dream was to attend a Toronto Maple Leafs game in person in Toronto. He (along with his family) was able to realize this wish, plus much more.

Alex’s wish included:

Airfare for 4 to Toronto
Meals, transportation & expenses paid
Hotel accommodations at the Hilton
Entry to Ripley’s, Playdium, Niagra Falls, Toronto Zoo, CN Tower
Game tickets to the Maple Leafs Game

Update From Mom & Dad

I just wanted to take a minute to tell you what an amazing trip we had. We really want to thank you guys soooo much for everything. I really don’t think this trip could have gotten any better. Alex had an amazing time when he met all the players. He was so funny because… you know how shy he is… well, when each player walked in he jumped up with his hand out to shake hands and called them by their first names. The guy that was hosting us there said Alex was a true super fan as most people don’t recognize these guys in their street clothes and he knew his facts lol. We will never be able to thank you all enough. Everything went very smoothly and we had ton of fun. Alex didn’t want to leave.
